Hello! I’m Dr. Farah Haq
I am a Doctor of Clinical Psychology (PsyD), a Canadian Certified Psychotherapist, a Registered Clinical Counsellor, and a specialized Grief Counsellor with over 16 years of experience. Throughout my career, I have worked extensively with provincially and federally funded programs, including the Crime Victims Assistance Program (CVAP), Stopping the Violence (STV), Employee Assistance Programs, and Family Preservation & Reunification Programs.
My practice supports individuals of all ages, addressing concerns such as at-risk behaviors, abuse, trauma, anger, violence, grief, relationships, anxiety, PTSD, and various life challenges. I utilize a wide range of therapeutic approaches, including Clinical Hypnosis, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), family systems, and solution-focused therapies. I am also experienced in handling high-risk cases through safety planning, case management, and de-escalation techniques.
As a first-generation immigrant, I deeply understand the significance of a supportive network. My passion lies in offering immediate, accessible counseling to immigrants, helping them navigate the challenges of adapting to new environments. I particularly focus on providing trauma and abuse support to women in urgent need. I am fluent in Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu, allowing me to connect with diverse communities.
With a flexible approach tailored to each individual’s needs, I offer virtual counselling sessions. I aim to empower clients to overcome obstacles and improve their overall well-being.
